Rent it, or hold the source code.
Most programmatic platforms charge a percentage of media for as long as you use them. ViSTARS takes no cut of media cost and does not mark up cloud infrastructure. The only decision is how much of the stack you want to operate yourself.
ViSTARS hosts, operates, and maintains the stack. Move to a license when your team is ready.
Full source code under a perpetual license, running in your own cloud account.
The same software, two ways to run it.
If you want proof before commitment, rent first. Move to a license once the economics are clear and your team is in place.
| Rent | License | |
|---|---|---|
| Who runs it | ViSTARS runs and maintains the stack for you. | Your team runs it, with our engineers alongside during the transition. |
| Source code | Operated by ViSTARS on your behalf. | Full source and executable code, delivered to you with documentation. |
| Your rights | Service agreement, scoped to your requirements. | Perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license. |
| What you build | Configured and extended to your specification. | Every modification and extension you create is your property. |
| Infrastructure | Hosted and managed by ViSTARS. | Your AWS, GCP, or Azure account, billed to you directly, with no markup. |
| Team you need | 3 to 5 people to operate. | 5 to 6 engineers to operate. |
| Continuity | Move to a license when your team is ready. | The license survives termination and is protected under Section 365(n) of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. |
You hold the source code. You own everything you build on it.
ViSTARS keeps ownership of the core software and continues to develop it. Your rights to use, modify, and operate it are permanent, and the work your team adds on top belongs to you outright.
- Full source and executable code, with dependency lists, programmer's notes, and build and installation instructions
- Architecture, configuration, deployment, and operational documentation
- Technical support and hands-on help installing the software on your servers during the transition
- An IP indemnity and a warranty that the code contains no back doors or malicious code
- The right to run the software as a hosted or managed service for your own customers
- Every modification and extension your team builds
- Your data, your logs, and your bidding logic
- The right to operate the software, and what you build on it, for your customers
- Ownership of the core software, which we continue to develop
- The right to resell the source code itself as a stand-alone product
Continuity: the license survives termination of the agreement, other than for an uncured breach of the license restrictions, and is protected under Section 365(n) of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
A live platform in weeks, not a multi-year build.
Every deployment follows the same milestone plan. For licensed modules, payment is tied to acceptance: the final milestone is due only after the source code compiles and the software installs successfully on your servers.
Workshop and validation
Requirements, architecture, and supply strategy agreed in writing, with a technology and product audit of what you run today.
Deploy and enable
The module deployed in your cloud or ours, integrated with your demand and supply partners, and accepted against agreed milestones.
Extend and optimize
Additional modules, Vi-Models, custom features, and Vi-Agent on top of the running stack.
Support
Technical support, maintenance releases, and ad operations support, at the level you choose.
Not sure which path fits? Start with a technology audit.
A workshop and audit of your current stack, contracts, and supply paths, led by our senior engineers. You leave with a written recommendation: rent, license, extend what you have, or change nothing. The recommendation is yours whether or not we work together afterward.
Questions CTOs and CFOs ask first.
Do we own the code?
You receive the full source code and documentation under a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license, and you own every modification and extension your team builds on it. ViSTARS keeps ownership of the core software and continues to develop it.
Can we run the platform for our own customers?
Yes. You can operate the software, and anything you build on it, as part of a hosted or managed service or an integrated advertising technology product for your customers. The one restriction is reselling the source code itself as a stand-alone product.
Where does the software run?
Under a license, in your own AWS, GCP, or Azure account, billed to you directly with no markup. Under the rental model, ViSTARS hosts and operates it for you.
How long does deployment take?
The workshop and validation phase takes 2 to 3 weeks, and deployment takes 3 to 5 weeks. Further modules and custom features are scoped in a statement of work.
What happens to our license if something happens to ViSTARS?
The license survives termination of the agreement, other than for an uncured breach of the license restrictions, and is protected under Section 365(n) of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Your rights to the code do not depend on our future.
Does Vi-Agent act on its own?
Only within the permissions you grant. It starts read-only, moves to actions your team confirms one by one, and reaches policy-bound autonomy only after a track record on your stack. Some actions, such as moving money or changing margin, always require a named person's approval.
Do we need the ViSTARS stack to use Vi-Agent?
No. Vi-Agent connects to other DSPs, SSPs, and ad servers through adapters built for your stack, and exposes a standard MCP server so your own agents can use it.
How does ViSTARS relate to ViSTARS Agency?
They are sister companies. ViSTARS Inc. builds and licenses the technology and Vi-Agent. ViSTARS Agency, LLC plans and runs managed media for brands on that technology.
